Saba Ghasemi is an Iranian filmmaker and multimedia artist whose works mostly focus on social and political events and self-portrait pieces. Her portfolio ranges from outdoor and self-portrait photography, social documentary, drawing, interactive works and short experimental films. Her documentary “Forced Confession,” showcased in the 2024 It’s All True Emerson College Documentary festival, is a social documentary based on archival footage of the Iranian feminist revolution “Woman Life Freedom” which focuses on the forced confession of victims. Her involvement in this showcase led her to be in the screening committee for Salem film festival and Camden International Film Festival. Saba studied Graphics in highschool and has a bachelor in fine arts in Cinema from Soore University in Iran. Her background in visual arts and her interest in art theories led her to translating essays on cinema and photography and impacted her interest in multimedia works. She is currently a master student at Emerson College in Film and Media Arts.
